>> Vacancy at the Lodge School

Applications are invited for suitably qualified persons to fill the posts of Music and History Teacher at the Lodge School.  

The post of Music Teacher is from September 2010 to December 2010.Applicants should have a Degree from an approved University or College.  Also, a Certificate or Diploma in Education would be an asset. 

Applications, together with two recent testimonials should be sent to the Secretary/Treasurer, Board of Management, The Lodge School, Society, St, John as soon as possible. 


>> Literacy Fair

The Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development invites everyone to its free Literacy Fair on Wednesday, September 8, in Queen’s Park, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

All public and private nursery, primary and secondary schools are especially invited to participate.The Fair is being held to commemorate International Literacy Day.


>>BVTB Annual Health Fair

The Barbados Vocational Training Board will host its annual Heath Fair, on Friday, July 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the C. Lomer Alleyne Skills Training Centre, Sayes Court, Christ Church.

Persons can enjoy various forms of entertainment, including aerobics, fun competitions and lots of give-a-ways. There’ll also be Voluntary Testing and Counseling and blood sugar and pressure tests. 


>> Christ Church South Crop Over Extravaganza

The Christ Church South Constituency Council invites Older Adults from its Constituency to participate in Crop Over Extravaganza 2010, at the Dover Complex and Pavilion on Thursday, July 29, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Patrons will have an opportunity to enjoy performances from Calypsonians, Dance Groups, Tuk Bands and Much more.

There’ll also be exercise sessions, health checks, massages, pedicures and other health tips.


>>St. Philip PIC

The St. Philip Parish Independence Committee invites residents to nominate persons who have made a significant contribution to the development of the parish in the areas of Agriculture, Tourism, Spiritual Growth, and Community Development.

Nominees should be 70 years or older and nominations should include contact information and details on why that persons has been chosen.

Nominations should be submitted in writing to the Chairperson, Deborah Lorde, Lucas Street, St. Philip, no later than Tuesday, August 31.


>> St. George North Town Hall Meeting

The St. George North Constituency Council invites residents from the constituency to join in the fight to eradicate the Giant African Snail and Rats from the Community.

The Town Hall Meeting will be held at the Newbury Nazarene Church, Newbury, St. George, on Thursday, July 29, at 7:00 p.m.
