New Form For Visually Impaired Persons The National Disabilities Unit (NDU) has advised that blind or visually impaired persons should complete the new form issued by LIME, which allows them a limited number of calls free of charge when calling 411 for directory enquiries. Blind or visually impaired persons may collect these forms from the NDU, or request that the NDU post them to their addresses. The forms should be returned to the Unit for verification, after which, "they will be forwarded to LIME for further action".Ole Time Bus Tours To Commence The popular "Ole Time Excursion" bus tours, coordinated by the Barbados Museum and Historical Society, are unique island tours that explore the history and culture of Barbados in a fun and educational way. All trips start with a 45-minute tour of the Barbados Museum to give an overview of the history and culture of Barbados. The tours are as follows: Sunday, June 27 - South; Saturday, July 31 - North; Sunday, August 29 - South; Saturday, September 25 - North; Sunday, October 24 - South and Saturday, November 27 - North. Interested persons are asked to book early by contacting the Barbados Museum and Historical Society, St. Ann's, The Garrison, St. Michael, at 427-0201 or 436-1956 or e-mail museum@caribsurf.com. Child Month - Open DaysThe Child Care Board is inviting Barbadians to visit day nurseries across the island as it celebrates Child Month in May, under the theme, "Children are the Beacons of Today: Let them Shine." From May 3 - 7; Ellerton, Colleton, Sayes Court, Madame Ifill and Marion Hall day nurseries will be open to the public. Open week at the London Bourne, John Beckles, Joan Arundell and Delores "Ma" Worrell nurseries is scheduled for May 10-14, while visitors are welcome at the Nightengale, Farm, Eden Lodge and Grazettes nurseries from May 17-21. The final Open week will be held at the Haynesville and Bagatelle Nurseries, May 25-28. Visiting hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In addition, there will be a Residential Exhibition at the Sterling Children's Home, St. Philip on Saturday, May 22, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. For further information, contact the Child Care Board at 426-2577 or e-mail childcareboard@sunbeach.net.Sundown Beach Walk The Costal Zone Management Unit invites you to a Sundown Beach Walk, on Saturday, May 29th from 3:15 p.m. sharp, from Ragged Point to Harrismith Bay, St. Philip. Buses will leave the Costal Zone Management Unit’s car park at 2:15 p.m. and persons are asked to assemble by 2:00 p.m. Bus tickets may be collected from the Costal Zone Management Unit Mondays to Fridays, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
